Project Title: Moon Garden- Embrace Human Darkness Theme: Efflorescence Rationale As we grow from different stages of life, we might come across dark times which lead us to feel stuck, lost of hope, having no direction, and unable to bear going through the motions. Everything seems meaningless, and we may feel that there is no place where we belong. From a dark time, we might have grown and transformed. Alternatively, we could have shut down and withdrawn from life. This installation encourages people to embrace the darkness in our inner souls and blossom in dark times.  Idea & Concept Most flowers bloom in the sunshine; however, some flowers open up and flourish in the dark. Project Background Inspiration Night Blooming Flowers Many flowers close when the sun goes down or the temperature drops, however, there are some flowers that bloom at night. Night-blooming flowers can reflect the moonlight and are often much more fragrant than those that bloom during the day. One of the reasons flowers that bloom at night is often more scented is that they need to attract nocturnal pollinators that must find them in the dark. This is also why most night bloomers have white flowers that reflect light and are more apparent at night. Meaning of 'flowers bloom at night' ‘Flowers that bloom at night’ could be a metaphor for personal awakening and realization of the self during the dark. This phrase refers to  the beauty and talent that can be discovered from spending time in solitude and looking within.
